Completely against their transfer policy and as said below, is just a response to City. No logic in it really, not given their financial position.
falling off a cliff. £65m (ish) over 4 years, madness

Their share price has done anything but fallen off a cliff, it is up 0.4% since it floated last week.
The point you make is in reference to the IPO starting at a much lower price than was originally mooted. This is all irrelevant though as it is just people throwing numbers out there.

For example Since June 1 we have paid Nicklas Bendtner approx 500,000 (or half a million for dramatic event) in basic salary.
This is a player who has openly stated he can not and will not play for us again.

Really it is quite stable which is more than ban be said about Facebook. Now down at $21 from the $38 it floated at in May.

They lost the league last season on the basis of goals scored I think, how better to remedy that than buying a one season wonder for a ridiculous fee given his age and injury record.

so the suggestion is that investing £65m in an asset which will be worthless in 4 years, and which has a track record for not extracting maximum value will increase their share value? Remind me not to let you manage mypension fund

While we laugh @ City and Adebayor we're just a smaller version but of course not having paid the enormous fees to buy him.
Football is f**ked.
