to be honest after he made that c**t of a statement I didn't care where he goes, I just wanted rid of him.

Some United fans I know are a bit perplexed by the whole deal. with wages and signing on fee they are looking at commiting over £70M on a 29 year old, with a suspect injury record (to say the least).

£24M for a 29 year old injury prone striker with 18 world class months of football in 8 years, has to be applauded. Selling him to a rival that we were possibly catching up squad wise, leaves more than a sour taste.

My only concern is that we go into the season with two brand new, if talented, strikers from totally different leagues, with very little CL experience. It will take time for them to settle.

If he was getting injured more frequently as he was getting older, I would say it was valid. i.e Michael Owen.

But with RvP, it seems he is getting fitter and stronger with age and getting injured less because of this. He has played more games in the last two years than any of the five previous to that.
