Certainly not in the club. He's done minimal pre-season and if this transfer hadn't gone though now he probably would have been decared unfit or not ready for Saturday.

It's dragged out because of haggling over the price. Same with Modric to RealM. Also of course by selling him earlier ManU would have more time to prepare and integrate him into their side, so it works both ways.
