View Full Version : I've still not seen a single actual reason given for why Van Persie is a **** Shrug

Ok, the original statement was never gonna go down well, but ultimately, what damage has it done? It seems we've got an excellent price for him...

If he wants to leave for trophies then fine, but coming out with all this 'Arsenal are my club *******s' was never going to endear him to anybody.

Anyway, we've got Giroud now and he has better looks AND a bigger *****.

Great deal all the same, for both parties. Or all 3 parties.

I tend to agree.

I can't be bothered disliking players who choose to leave.

When he scores the first goal at old trafford. He was the Pl top goal scorer and now defected to a dispised rival.. means nothing?

You may not like it, but many people feel an attachment to their club and, by extension, the players of the club. Him joining a rival team feels like a betrayal to such people.

Personally, I found his statement to be patronising and insulting to the club; a bit like having a girl tell you how great you are whilst dumping you, but I couldn't care enough to label him a c**t.

They are entitled go for money and trophies, and we are entitled to point to the loyalty Arsene showed them in their difficult years, and hope they win feck-all pour discourager les autres.

c**ts are useful and can help in providing pleasure. both of which RVP no longer does

that one day he would perform as he did last season.

That is self-interested loyalty, at best.

As much legal obligation as display of loyalty, quite difficult to sell an injured player.

I doubt he was getting a contract renewal every summer. Yes a degree of loyalty perhaps from the manager, belief more than loyalty, belief that his ability would come to the fore.

Still not convinced myself van Persie owed anything on that basis.

You know, football and a' that.

No point being a fan if you refuse to behave like one. A different hobby?

Expecting such things in football may be stupid, but there are more important things in life than money and status. It must be sad in your world where people are no more than stepping stones and everything has a price. Friendships, family, trust and, even, love: all abstract concepts that I expect an amoral, witless gob****e such as yourself cannot appreciate.

Like I said, football may not be the place for such things, but why act surprised when people view the actions of players and clubs within the context of their own personal values.
