When I lived in Essex, I used to pay £2,600 a year to travel 25 mins from Shenfield to Liverpool St on the overground train. I rarely had a seat because it was always packed full of people. Now they're talking about increasing prices by twice as much as inflation.
The problem is, they have a monopoly on travelling into London, so they can charge what they want without affecting the demand.
Astonishing that it costs me more to travel home from Stansted than it does to fly from Oslo
