View Full Version : I'm struggling to comprehend all the Bolt worship. Apart from being able to run *******-bustingly

fast over a short distance, what else can he do?

Why is winning two Olympics in a row such a phenomenon - been done many times in equally demanding sports?

These are serious questions. Is it really so astonishing or has a media ****-fest gained irreversible momentum?

Other then technique in techincal sports, speed and endurance are the two main ways of testing human athleticism, yes?

We could sit here all night and argue about which sport is the most endurance-demanding. We can see endurance in all kind of sports but finding the human being who can run the fastest out of everyone on the planet can only be seen in one event.

It doesn't do an awful lot for me (though I still watch the finals) but I can see why it gets so hyped.

Not training the hardest or having the best technique, but because he has a sprinter's physique and long legs. Personally, I prefer Blake. My Jamaican 'inlaws' are loving the Bolt hype though. They respond to his, and any Jamaican, success with aggressive gloating. But, then again, aggressive would probably be the word I would use to define them in general.

Doesn't possess a typical sprinter's build at all but still incredibly fast.

One to watch for the future.
