feckin cape cod is swamped with great whites right now..9 tracked so far with one attack..its like jaws all over again

Not to cramp CL's style, but the area around Seattle is some of the most beautiful I have ever seen and the city itself is fantastic.

Although waking up at 7am for matches must be excruciating

to Portland and rented a car with which we explored Oregon. Then train again from Portland to Seattle, as back then it was not possible to drive a rental car across states.

Train is not a much used means of transportation in the US, unfortunately. Coz it's really a great way of travelling, I love train rides.

San Francisco was a great city, ****e weather though, especially in July. Travel less than a mile over the Golden Gate bridge and the weather suddenly changes to warm and gorgeous.
