To Cadogan Hall to see Richard Thompson.

I know precisely one Richard Thompson song.

There is going to be fretwánking, isn't there?

I had never heard of the chap before about 2-3 weeks ago when it was recommended to me to listen to one of his acoustic classic albums.

I wish you a good evening.

Really? I mean, he's like famous and everything sw. He was in Fairport Convention, for Christ's sake!

Fair enough, just not the path I follow.

I am not a fan of FC so unlikely I will know the individual members.

I recommend The Family Silver to you as a musical nod. Go on.

Has this got something to do with Paul Weller?

I’m rather keen, as you know. You’re going with r, aren’t you?

Do bear in mind that Thompson is an Allan these days - albeit a Sufi one.

Yes, it is her christmas or birthday present apparently. I know nothing of these matters, as you know.

I like the one about the motorbicycle. That's nice.

It would be good if that Sandy Denny Lane joined him on stage, it would be a sort of Faces/Fairport Convention reunion. Although the dead thing makes it seem unlikely.

Dinner at Café Colbert. That's the bit I'm looking forward to. They do an excellent steak tartare and a rather marvellous choucroute.

Yes, she told me about it when we met last week. Sounds jolly. He does a good line in break-up songs also. He does wear rather a silly hat, though :-/

I wish you joy of the evening.

You are kind. I shall drink no more than two glasses of wine.
