Horrid, imo. That could be any city in Western Europe
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

I have been on many subways around the world. I find the gates on the tube rather excessive.

Most other wons don't require a ticket to exit either.

I loved the old toilet-white tilings.

We lined our bathroom in those. White with a couple of black stripes in honour of the Northern Line.

Strange line to choose imo. A ****ty, confusing, dirty and irritating line. Always been more of a pic/vic man myself

We were going to do the bathroom black and white anway. The metro tiles were an added bonus. Also, it is the original *tube* line. We live on it. Literally above it - the trains rumble past soothingly underneath. It smells like the underground should. It works a lot better than when you lived here, all those years ago, and it isn't confusing to anyone with an IQ above about four.

Victoria line is nice 'n quick but has wierd, corny station designs. It's also a bit too clinical and neat and clean. Northern has that authentic gothic grime about it.

I have to agree. As a once heavy user of the Victoria line, I find the lengthy gap between Highbury & Islington and Finsbury Park tedious to say the least. There is also the potential to be sat next to someone from Walthamstow.

Oh I'm all about the metro tiles, I have Metropolitain Line colour ones in the kitchen. I use the Northern quite a bit but the whole Kings X dogleg was always a ******* to me.

Yes but then you forget to buy a ticket one day and get stopped by inspectors and fined. Then, as a Londoner, growing up with the stigma of ticket avoidance being such a heinous crime you fell incredibly guilty even though the inspectors are actually delighted that you didn't as it is basically just a way of collecting revenue - no difference if you are doing deliberately or just made a mistake (ironically as you had just got back from London and been so used to using your ticket all the time, you actually forget that you have one). In short: *******s
