I drove an M3 as my main car from 1994 to 2014. Changed for a new one every 2 years, that's about 10 cars, isn't it? Every single one was wonderfully entertaining and riduclously cheap.

Just a rock hard ride (previous owner had Eibach'd it up) and any passengers get thrown around a little.

You wouldn't really want to cruise a motorway in it. If you did, you had to do 60mph to get any decent mpg out of it and you could feel every, single, ****ing lump, crack, stone on the road.
