Hmmmmmm. Or Moises Caicedo... When it inevitably goes that way we can come back to this thread and convince ourselves that he has a higher ceiling than Rice. Will make us all feel better then

Doesn’t matter either way. We are still not going to win anything.

You know nothing, Rich. Mind you, the rest of us don't either at this point.

Perhaps Rice has an agreement with West Ham that he can move to Arsenal if we offer 100mil.

There's no reason to believe we will have to match City's offer. And this would be the City that have K Phillips, Rodri and have now signed Kovacic. Their interest in Rice would surprise me.

Suspect that they'd like to shift Phillips to West Ham.

And you may know what David Sullivan is like.... called Del Boy for a reason... he'll accept the highest / most favourable bid (which will be City). Will be up to Arsenal to match it or move on.

That was my very first experience of "Bazball", albeit it was only on the radio. Nothing new under the sun and a' that?

What is more concerning is having to go into Lord's with Root as our frontline spinner. Though does that mean we can sandwich in Foakes? Assume that Wood or Potts comes in for one of the three seamers as per standard rotation policy.

Yes, the whole point would've been to AVOID having to match their "offer"; save a few quid. Hence the early, and ongoing, PR offensive.

Technically we could have signed him up three months ago, after all

It, of course, is not entirely inconceivable that he doesn't want to move to Manchester. Wife and his family are all Londoners. Same reason (in reverse) my BiL didn't really want to move to London.

350k a week plus a trust fund in Abu Dhabi for those kids might twist his arm...

There's also 115 other reasons he might be reluctant

Yes, fair point. West Ham United will understandably want to squeeze us for every penny, especially as we're the only LOCAL Champions League option for him.

Patience, innit. Manchester City are probably just fishing, if anything; a bit of banter. *******s
