Not as bad as the 14th - lost to Spurs in the semi, lost to Utd in the replay of the semi; lost to Boro 3-0 when they had one shot on target. Terrible date

Ooh I was watching Bill Bailey doing a show in a tiny theatre in Soho, trying out new material for his next tour, when the Boston Marathon thing happened. Had a lovely supper at The Ivy afterwards, I recall. Good times.

And the day of that Boro game I was in a Relais et Chateaux outside Carcassonne. I remember a truly amazing pyramid-shaped chocolate dessert, and that everyone else was smothered in diamonds and furs while I sported an oil-stained flying suit.

I always think of the Titanic as the 14th but of course that was the collision not the actual sinking. Good work I.

I was actually in the North Bank the day of Hillsborough as well. Late, late Marwood goal kept us on course for the title
