Corbyn's personal history should place him among the most reviled public figures on earth among all anti-racists, and it would be very simple to frame the charge sheet against him in a way that makes it impossible for any of his supporters to defend.

This has always been an option that every interviewer, including the otherwise fantastic Neil, has chosen to reject.
Why do you think focusing on Corbyn's anti-semitism will hurt Labour more in the election than focusing on Labour's anti-semitism?

Because that seems to be the argument you're making. BTW, I think there has been plenty of focus on both.

I also think that offering him the opportunity to apologise 4 times and having him refuse to do so each time was far more damaging than dragging up something he said or did in the past. F*cking miles more. Well done, Neil.

Of course. If his supporters within the party been denied the cover to keep coming out and defending, obfuscating and deflecting for him, there would have been huge internal pressure for him to resign. His colleagues would have been compelled to tell him he has to step down for the sake of the party.

But the media has given them sufficient cover to continue the pretense that this is merely a party-wide problem rather than a Jeremy Corbyn problem.

Again, I don't think the public care tbh. Come a GE they will focus on what concerns them personlly rather than wider held beliefs.

Boris seems to have had his dodgy dealings with that girl while he was London Mayor completely brushed under the carpet, miss use in a public office is a serious charge but has been ignored.

You're not going to change their minds about Corbyn because he hates jews. They like that he hates jews.

Whether this sickness on the left has been caused by decades of using Israel as a front to pander to the muslim vote is a further question... I believe may otherwise decent people have simply been brainwashed by the constant dripfeed of propaganda by the leftist media into believing that Israel, and by extension all jews, are evil.
All are valid, but you've missed one thing, C.

    The interweb and social media.

Yer average hard lefty is opposed to capitalism and wants to find a less egregious replacement. At the start of the decade, some fückwitted lefty acquaintance put some 30 min economics-for-dummies style youtube video on his fb page and they were all raving about it.

It said that paper money and what they called "fractional reserve banking" {banks being able to lend out a percentage of their deposits} were the root of all evil. I tried to explain why this isn't the case, you know, having actually studied it properly.

The point is that this wasn't some proto-Momentum lot, it was from those far-right Septic nutters who think the Fed is a vast conspiracy as opposed to being a central bank.

Now yes, there's always been Israel which they see as the no.1 imperialist state. And the thick ones see the disproportionate number of Jews working in finance without understanding that this is easily explained by the history of usury in Catholic Europe.

    But we never really had an open anti-Sem problem in the UK as they have had historically in Europe. {We never had a Drefuss Affair, we had anti-Catholic Gordon Riots.}

This changed when Jez came in and started making it acceptable.

All his young fans found anti-Semitic videos online and shared them with each other. And if you're so thick you believe this racism, you're also probably be too thick to check and find that the video was posted by far-right Americans.

So, despite their hatred of Septics, fascists and racists, they've been brainwashed into racism by the videos of Septic fascists.

Basically, it needed youtube, social media, and historic anglophone anti-Sem in the US for Corbyn to have caused such a rapid rise in jew-baiting.
