    Age is certainly a factor, but it would be interesting to see whether my feelings changed if we were actually any fúcking good.

    Well age must be a large factor, given that many of us fell in love with the club when we were utterly shíte.

    Fair point. But as a kid you can convince yourself that your shít team is actually brilliant. The bang-average players are still heroes to be worshipped and there's something magical about your stadium, be it ever so píss-stained and crumbling.

    Such suspension of disbelief gets harder when you're aged.
