You just don't get sex maniacs anymore, do you?

They were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, but they his headline reminded me how much I love and miss the phrase. I mean, it's also funny as fúck, obviously.

Am I missing something when I read some commentators suggest Rory Stewart is the biggest threat to Johnson?

I mean, short of a major scandal breaking that would force Johnson to withdraw, he *will* make the final two. And if it's Johnson vs Stewart, it's pretty much a scientific FACT that the membership would vote overwhelmingly for Johnson.

No, you're not missing anything other than the fact that he appeals to such commentators because they are not tories and in many cases actively hate everything about the tories. Stewart is simply positioning himself as the acceptable face of Remain in what under Johnson will be a Brexiteer's Tory Party and thus is seeking to carve out a party within a party - the new ERG, if you like.

I'm a massive, massive fan of Stewart's plan to put Brexit back to the people via a citizens' assembly - except if the people then decide we should leave with No Deal, he won't accept their answer

Exactly. The shocking thing is that, when he said that, he wasn't challenged about it by the interviewer.

He is quite simply a de haut en bas, we-know-best remainer masquerading as a man of the people and babbling in Pashtu.

Oh, you still get 'em, but they aren't called 'sex maniacs' anymore, which seems a pity. Besides, since when has a chap liking to put it about a bit constituted sex maniac status? Seems a very low bar to entry - as it were.

As for the other thing, scousers gonna scouse.
