Cannon and Ball were similarly awful. I think they fell out, but then they got Jesus or something and reconciled.

Why is it always the supposedly "funnier" one in a comedy duo that pegs it first?

    Morecambe before Wise

    Barker before Corbett

    Large before Little

Bernie Winters before Mike (ok, "comedy" is pushing it...)

Bobby Ball must be bricking it....

Thought of them instantly reading C's post but seeing as they were a tiny part of me and my sister's childhood I thought I'd let it go. For the same reason I could never slate Russ Abbot.
'Seems that I was busy doing something close to nothing
But different than the day before'

'Met a dwarf that was no good, dressed like Little Red Riding Hood'

    'Now you're unemployed, all non-void
Walkin' round like you're Pretty Boy Floyd'

I was once watching a dire brit-shít-sitcom. A man in a green cardigan was reading

his paper and droning at his wife. She said something completely unfunny to him, to which his wry and witty response was "Huh! - you can say that again", cue an enormous peal of canned laughter. It actually managed to momentarily depress me.

Can a comedy that induces even a momentary feeling of despair have failed more comprehensively in its purpose?

I have friends who absolutely despair of me because I do not find "Fools 'n Orses" the slightest bit funny whatsoever...ever!

I expect that'll have you parping off like an early warning system as well bb.

Oh H, I don't feel anger or despair just sadness really. Begs the question, what do you find funny?
