He had £23,400 worth of county court judgements against him - at least one of which is thought to be related to his work as a gas boiler engineer.

The most recent, for £4,412, was imposed just 10 days before the fatal flight left Nantes.

I think we should lock Sir SwivelEyes up now before he follows suit

A glance at the aftercast would suggest that his problem was far more likely to have been ice than depression.

Funny old decision to go flying in those conditions. In fact it would appear that his problem was rather more stupidity than either ice or depression.*

*Obviously we're speculating at present pending the outcome of the AAIB investigation.

be a full time pilot but clearly couldn't make enough and was forced into the plumbing and heating game to try to supplement his income.

Then the perpetual cruel jesting from his flying colleagues about "pulling jobbies from the pan" drove him to his final desperate farewell.

I’d say it’s evidence that jobbie-botherers ought to stick to what they know and not try to do get above their station.

And judging from the CCJ count he was clearly not learning from his mistakes.
