Thread: Well, that was so much better than Arsene, wasn't it?

Well, that was so much better than Arsene, wasn't it?

It's amazing the way he's improved the defence while also keeping that gorgeous, creative football the SFC was renowned for.

Thank God he got us a CH and a goalie who would get into any CL side, and the right back cover we needed who's challenging Hector for a place.

Speaking of which, it's great that he's seen how well Hector plays when he actually has a wide right player in front of him for the 1-2s down to the by-line for his cut backs.

We don't need wing backs as we have a good enough defence meaning we don't need the extra body back there, so we're not getting over-run in MF nowadays as used to happen under AW. AW's football was possession based but we used to needlessly give the ball away in the middle of the park meaning they just ran straight down the middle and scored.

Lovely that he's getting the best out of Ozil and Rambo - Torreira's what they needed, now we have two wide forwards that will work defensively and have learned when to help the full-backs both in attack and defence, and when to drop into spaces between the lines.

Glad we're not giving away a player of Rambo's quality to a team like Juve or PSG and that £350k a week on a creative genius on his last contract hasn't ended up a waste.

In short, thank God for the AFTV banners attacking AW, not the Septic owner. It's not like PHW (RIP) and David Dein would have spent big when we needed investment after falling behind Sperz at the end of GG or when we almost did in Jan 2006.

They wouldn't have realised that while Torreira was exactly what this squad with Rambo, Ozil and two decent strikers, Mustafi was a waste who'd have to be written off, and with Kos at the end of his career, we actually needed to spend big on a youngish top drawer CH straight away (as well as another squad player to challenge, though maybe keeping Chambers for 6 months to see if he's as good a prospect as Holding) as well then making sure the new goalie would give us 5-10 years at top 4 level.

After all those games under AW in his latter years where our woeful defence saw us lose heavily in big away games, what a pity PHW didn't live to see today.

    Never in fücking doubt.

Funny, but I seem to remember one of the straws to which the slavish adherents of the dago fùckpig were clinging was that we hadn’t yet been utterly humiliated by one of our ‘rivals’. Well now we have and they’re STILL making excuses for him.

Liverpool won at a stroll tonight. They didn’t need to break sweat. We were lucky to get away with losing 5-1. And we only did that because they took their foot off the gas after half time.

Whatever about the rest , he cant be blamed for the Ramsey situation . That was clearly festering in the background long before he got here , and he did try to get in front of it straight away by saying he wanted to build around him .

The new manager needs time before he can be fairly judged . He does not have a magic wand . When Klopp first took over Liverpool he was all over the place and the AKB's were saying he was an example of why we should stick with Wenger ...look at his defence now compared to then! 8 goals conceded all season .

So while it is understandable to lose the plot after a hammering like this , a little perspective and calm is in order

    My thoughts exactly.

The defence is a shower and we've lost the creativity that used to allow us to get away with it.

But this is exactly the sort of hammering that led AFTV to say he must go.

But in your case the additional emphasis is appropriate if not grammatically correct.

And speaking of being a tedious dullard, I’m loving you replying to that with a grammatical correction.

You’re probably too thick and too self unaware to see how funny that is.

Rather depends whether you find grammar tedious and/or the English language dull, I'd have thought.

Personally, I find both more enjoyable that the late AW comedy defending coupled with the late GG sterility further forward.

Yeah, I think most people find grammar pretty boring. Some people use it as a nice cover to hide their inability to perform quantitative or qualitative analysis. All the thick birds in my high school loved grammar.

As for sterility going forward, you are aware that we are on a pace to score considerably more goals this season than last season, right? Or is quantitative analysis not part of your repertoire either?
