I almost died reading that tweet last night. Cross’s agenda has been obvious throughout the process. At first he wanted Rodgers to get the job. When it was clear that wasn’t happening he started banging the Arteta drum. He wanted someone in there who’ll be open and welcoming towards the press. Someone who’ll give them nice little sound bites and interesting press conferences. He’ll get none of that from Emre.
