eyes after I recently acquired a PRS Santana on ebay for £300.00. It really is such a splendid littel guitar I have realised that Gibson and Fender are no different to Harley Davidson - a triumph of brand over substance.



However, if you must choose on of the two I'd go for the double cut. I've never really got on with the traditional Les Paul shape.

Incidentally, if you're talking about a real 59/60 rather than a re-issue that is an entirely different matter of course as it is an investment so the eye watering cost is justified. Most of the collectors can't even play!

That's really nice Herbert I've always liked that one. doublecut and has a slash vibe.

a real 59/60 double cut I can probably get about 5k ish in red. always gonna be a bit more expensive and hard to find here.
It's not something I am in a rush to buy but it the long term the value will go up.
I played one on my holiday and it the nicest guitar I had ever played.

Though saying that I've seen some 60's SG's going for reasonable prices for vintage guitars.

I love those 'proper' old SG's - especially the way they cover the fret ends to match the cream binding like so - do it on all high end Gibbos I think but not the Juniours.



Had a morning in Andertons with my son recently (he got me playing again) and noted the new budget Gibsons don't have this and are, generally, very overpriced for the quality of finsih ( ropey ).
