I'll be up there next week, I shall pick some up. For what reason, I know not.

Isn't the theory with these things that it stops money leaving the region? All seems a bit socialist to me.

I'll certainly be accepting such currency when I realise I've run out of money and have to spend my retirement running my house as a b&b, making breakfast for greasy Manucunians and putting their shít-stained sheets into my washing machine.

What a rosy picture you paint, to be sure.

And why are they sh1tting on your sheets? Surely even Mancunians don't do that, do they?

Yes, but think of the money you could make, sc.

    Buy a house like this one for a mere £330k - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-...-48884454.html
(alright, it is in Whitehaven, but it appears to have nice views) and live on the equity from the sale of your current house.

Whitehaven's not too bad. It's a lot better than Workington, that's for sure.

I could quite happily cope with that view whilst sitting in that conservatory with the Sunday papers and a bottle wine

Exactly so. That is my plan. However, my ability to burn through money must not be underestimated.

I'll be skint inside 18 months.

Yes. Very nice. Apart from when it rains or is covered in mist or snow (ie most of the year).

Mind you, before I bought that place, the occupants would have to solemnly promise to take all the furniture, curtains, wallpaper, fittings and carpets away with them. The fireplace is fvcking hideous as well.
