    I once had a Kurdish taxi driver. My wife managed to upset him by thinking he was Turkish.

    I was only able to mollify him by talking about how Salahhuddin (Saladin to you lot) was famously a Kurd. I even pronounced it properly and everything. We were firm friends by the end of the journey.
