Now I love ‘Party Fears Two’ by The Associates, but...

...its refrain is so totally associated in my mind with The Big Match’s goals round-up in the 80s that I can’t listen to it without expecting them to cut back to a shifty-looking Elton Wellsby in the Granada studios in a sparkly suit.

This seems a less-than-fitting tribute to scotch greyhound-fancier, homosexualist and shed-based self-murder enthusiast Billy McKenzie.

To be fair, if he’s got the balls to stick it to a Staffie, I think he should get a medal. I wouldn’t put my junk within five yards of one.

In fairness, he’s from Lincoln. I think that’s acceptable behaviour in those parts

It is a bit gay. Good, though. Supposedly, The Smiths’ ‘William, It Was Really Nothing’ was about him.
