So we're not trying to sign Thomas Lemar anymore?

How odd. It's almost as though there is no coherent strategy, from one transfer window to the next.

Lemar needs a cooling off period. We bid for him in a bit of a panic and in a summer where players were going for €200m. If we went back in for him now we’d probably only want to pay £50-£60m for him and that’s going to look a bit silly after recently bidding £90m.

We'll go back for him tomorrow when BVB refuse to sell Aubameyang as they cannot find a replacement in either Giroud (won't leave London) or Batshuyai (Chelsea won't let him go to stop Arsenal getting Aubameyang).

They won’t turn down £60m whatever happens.

Hope not. I think that there may be one more to come in too.

Evans was supposedly going to be the one if we were to sign anyone else but it looks like the injury and recent revelation about his £3m release clause if they get relegated will stop that move from happening.

Just read a piece on The Times, written as if he has definitely signed, which is very odd.

"Last season, of course, the Torjägerkanone was hoisted by Arsenal’s new signing, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose remarkable haul of 31 goals — from 32 appearances for Borussia Dortmund — was the most any player had scored in a Bundesliga season since Dieter Müller scored 34 in the 1976-77 season."

Would be more worried if Dortmund were going to a top top player as replacement but they are more looking for a body to fill a gap so to speak. Hard to believe they want to keep Aubameyang now anyway

Cannot see how this works so one way or other the Gabon will come.

Would have been the same with Sanchez had HM not agreed to move, in the end a compromise would be found as the players is basically gone.

Especially for a player that has made it quite clear he wants out and I can also imagine that he's the sort of player that would have a proper sulk for the rest of the season
