    So for various religious reasons we have tomorrow and Wednesday off

    meaning every ****er and his wife has also taken today off - mostly it seems to go to the supermarket and stock up on food as the shops will be shut for two whole days. Lovely and quiet in the office

    Nein, h. I get by but it is horrible language to speak so I try to avoid doing so. And they love speaking English

    No - you are right though, a. I was surprised about it - we always got All Saints Day in Bavaria (Never Ever going to change that ... sorry) but I think the reformation day is countrywide (holidays being done on state basis rather than a national one)

    Yeah, they were going for it in Augsburg when I was there, too. There’s also a truly terrible German series about it currently being shown on BBC4
