No income tax or national insurance contributions, though. Nor corporation tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax or value added tax #socialistthieves

Of course you know as well as I do that looting was absolutely rife during the Blitz. Crafty cockernees had few qualms about robbing

G's dad lives/lived in Fort Myers. He kept sending farewell emails to his family members about how much he loves them, etc on Sunday. This obviously calmed everyone right down

He failed to mention where he'd hidden all his money?

Sadly it is human nature, for some.
Sure, isn't there always a few quid to be had whenever there's trouble afoot.

Wool tax, hearth tax, taxes for the hundred year war, taxes for war against Scotland. High taxes were a cause of the peasants revolt. Then you had yer famines, yer plagues ....

One wonders how they afforded good hospitals, schools and were able to maintain the cities and towns not to mention providing safety and security for all of the citizens without taxes.

Miracle workers, it seems. That or the place was - by current standards - an utter ****hole that barely touched the standards now associated with civilization.

    1. Good hsopitals are paid for by premiums paid to BUPA.
    2. Good schools are paid for by the hard work of the parents.
    3. Cities and towns may be paid for by the people who choose to live in them.
    4. If you think this socialist dystopia is 'civilisation', fúck knows how shítty Canada is.
