I think Wetherspoons gets a bad press and I am going to take a stand to defend them.

Haterz will hate. I like the Coronet, and they can be useful for a midday fry-up too. Often a better pint than supposed 'decent' pubs because they have a busier throughput and the pint of choice is less likely to be out of date.
