    Went to Germany the other day and got caught up in the middle of the

    bloody Tour de France. Now, if that's not life, I don't know what is

    Perhaps, but I understand Napoleon once made it as far as Köln. There's even a plaque there acknowledging the occassion.

    Oh, yes, but it wasn't really Germany, then. It was a bunch of half-arsed principalities, dukedoms and Prussia.
