Why bloody not?! Arsene was in the kid's house this time last year. They love one another.

Because he was doing his exams and wanted to stay local. He's ready to leave for pastures new now.

    Welcome to The Arsenal, Klyian.

Maybe your mum was there, so no wonder he stayed.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Indeed, perhaps his best chance to sign him when he was relatively unknown and he may have looked at Arsenal as a 100% upgrade.

Now he is possibly the hottest football property in Europe and would be welcomed by most clubs including all the bigger clubs than us, those who can play CL football next season while also perhaps offering more money to both him personally and also to his club, if that were an issue.

I do get the argument about his coming to us in terms of continued development, perhaps a stepping stone to one of the aforementioned larger clubs, but then one could argue to remain at a very good Monaco would represent as good a platform.

Monaco are also not going to sell all their players, that would be a madness. They have lost the wonderful Silva and are likely to lose the marvellous Bakayoko and Mendy among others.

Our biggest selling point if we get him will have been Arsene Wenger.

    Worked last summer.
