    Any American made one will probably hold value and probably increase over time.

    the 2017 American standard series is interesting.
    Also Fender can't put Made in the USA on their guitars anymore due to some California laws.
    it just says Corona California on the new models.

    I'm mad for an SG, but then I favour the growliness of Gibson.

    It may be heresy to say it, but is a Tele not just a precursor to a Strat really?

    SG is my preference. I love the Gibson growl too. I like my strat but only the Neck pick up it sounds great but otherwise it's a bit wimpy.
    Tele is tempting if I want to learn some country stuff. I may have already have a tele but it's in my parents loft as it's junk.

    Right where is my wallet.
