Did the RCAF have a Cold War presence in Europe?

Germany - loads of them in Germany.

All RCAF offices got oversea postings and the overwhelming majority were to Germany. My father did something good at some point apparently and got 3 years at the Canadian embassy in London where, according to him, all he did was push some papers around and go to the pub with the American, British, South African and Australian embassy chaps.

His memory of that period extends as far as Saffies being nasty, Australians being misogynistic drunkards and British embassy chaps thinking that grabbing the bottoms of the female embassy staff was perfectly acceptable.

Safe to say, he enjoyed it.

I'm pretty sure this is the picture that made me fall in love with it all those years ago.
I am not that fond of the US WW2 aircraft as they are all a bit too metallic looking for my liking.
