Yeah but sometimes you see it happening right before your eyes.

Even if Lucas was fit last night he wouldn't have got a chance to play.
And bringing on Walcott? what's he going to do in a game like that?

Yeah - imagine Walcott coming on and changing a game against top European opposition. Never happened before

Perhaps one of Wenger's 'problems' is playing players on reputation and not form. A blind goal line official could tell that Ozil needs dropping. For example.
“Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.”

Arsene would never drop him in that game. especially with the contract situation.
someone like Mourinho would have on problem in doing so.

    Not that I like Mourinho.

He plays them because they're His players, imo. Mesut is clearly His favourite and best player. That's why He paid all that money for him.

"Dropping" him would be ridicules. From Wenger's point of view, I mean.

And form & reputation is one and the same thing anyway; you have a reputation because you've shown good form.

"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

If this was true Pogba would have been dropped by United by now
