    yep...still the best.

    hopefully being free of the captaincy will get him back to his best...those india tests broke him.

    Wouldn't complain if he wanted sit out a few tests and just enjoy country cricket for a while before returning. maybe even a small T20 series somewhere just to get the love back.

    He was equally over-cautious, it's true, but I think that tendency is a legacy of years of being a bit shït. This meant that even when we were good, we didn't believe in our players enough to take risks. That lack of confidence shown by the captain becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy, since it takes the belief and responsibility away from the individual players.
