    Arsenal in the arts

If you check out "Dagger of the Mind", Season Two, Episode Five of the Columbo series there is an important contribution by the Arsenal. The newspaper Columbo is reading bout fifteen minutes from the end has a headline on the back page "Mee Gets Blockley". Tis refers to the signing of Jeff Blockley for £200,000 (we wuz robbed) in October 1972.

Quite good detective work there from me I thought.

"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."
