    Proper midfielders

He'll be a really, really good replacement for both Arteta and Flamini imo. He's a very good passer of the ball, short and long, and will add the calming, controlling influence that we missed when legohair got injured. Also, he's very fond of a card so he'll replace Flamini nicely too.

Though I'm not sure Flamini will actually be off, rather he'll just be ushered into the role of being Mesut's fluffer.

Hold on just a wee second, he is not “just” a midfielder.

He is a left footed midfielder, elegant and cultured and all the other footballing clichés which automatically flow in such scenarios.

    Brady, Petit, Edu, Redondo.

Life rarely gets better than this.

Shows what you know about the game, he's the right sort of player and one we've needed for a while. We needed a couple of ents to offset our midfield hobbits

    Good post. I suppose.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."
