Absolutely. However, it was very, very funny. The best bit is that Livingstone genuinely can't see anything wrong with what he or Shah said. There's a certain type of lefty mindset whereby they believe themselves to be the good guys, therefore they can't possibly be racist. Thus, while normal people might self-edit to try not to be racist, they will simply say stuff in the arrogant belief that, because they're saying it, it must be OK. Livingstone is a classic example.
