    I don't think Coondog was his given name, was it? Nobody splashed water on his brow and said 'I name thee Coondog Parsons', did they?

    No, it was Cecil. Doubtless mispronouced as See-Sill

    In much the same way anybody called Les is diminished by being called "Less".

    Undoubtedly Sir C will correct this to "fewer"
