Thread: I’m on a kitchen knife forum and am struggling to comprehend how people can care so much about

  1. #21

    You forgot "tight"

All the sets I'd prefer are 300+

  2. #22

Thay'll last you 10 years though.

Knives and mattresses are well worth splashing out on. They will give you joy every day.

By the way, I often splash out on your mum's mattress.

Yes they are. Because one decent sized knife costs around a hundred quid.

That is what things cost. Either pay it or f**k off, but don't piss about buying a knife block containing tiny, useless knives that you will come to hate as it represents your own parsimony and lack of foresight.

Better to buy one or two really good knives for that money. Knife blocks are stupid **** for know-nothing knife noob c**ts and you are never going to use a tiny boning knife for anything ever.

  4. #24

Yes, all fair. I will keep looking.

    *gulp*

  5. #25

I bought a 500 quid Global set for half price in Selfridges

best just to keep an eye out for sales

Have to slightly disagree there, the Global set I got provided 4 knives I use all the time

admittedly the 5th one is f'ing useless

Good starting point from which to add to the collection over time, imo

  8. #28

Good. Anything else you want advice on, just let me know.

  9. #29

Properly cared for* good knives should last you near a lifetime.

*by which I mean NOT PUT IN THE F.UCKING DISHWASHER!

    Sorry. I'm calm again now.

They'd end up awfully dirty, b.
