How much would you have to be paid to work in say, Burger King, at a service station for a year?

And live in the Travelodge opposite.

It would be far away, off the M4 in Wales or something.

    How much would it take?

This question brings to mind a charming Leslie Thomas novel called 'The Adventures of Goodnight and

Loving.' One of my favourite novels, like, evs.

I commend it to you highly, young j.

The answer is, just enough to live and afford a few pints of a Friday night. I am content with the simple life these days. And a service station on the M4 is going to be a sort of cosy, self-contained community; a comfortable, self-contained oasis, remote from the care of life.

    I'd love it.

I was thinking more of Kerouac being a fire watchman in Big Sur

It's more or less the same thing, when you think about it

250 a thousand is hardly top rates, though, is it?

Jesus. I pay more than that.
