I don’t for one moment think we’re “back in the title race” but what would it take, I wonder,

for it to be hard to dispute that we actually are?

Say we made up another two points on them next weekend, knocking the deficit down to 8 points with us still to play them at home. What then?

No but seriously, what the f**k then?

  2. #2

We're not going to win all our remaining games.

They're not going to drop 8 points.

  3. #3

textbook reverse jinxing there, my word

  4. #4

But...but...if we knocked it down to 5 points by beating them there'd still be

12 points to play for, meaning we wouldn't need to win all our games.

  5. #5

So they draw their next game and lose the one after that?

Meaning they'll have taken 2 points from a possible 9?

When did they last go through such a patch of form, do you think? 1978?

  6. #6

We should just take it one game at a time

  7. #7

No, if they draw their next match and win their subsequent three

we can *still* reduce the deficit to 5 points with 4 games to play by beating them.

  8. #8

If we win all our remaining games we'd have 84 points.

The league was won last year with 86

and 2 years before that 89.

it doesn't seem enough. Though the standard of league has slipped.

Oh it would be one of the most unlikely title victories in history

    but stranger things *have* happened.

  10. #10

They're away to Hull next weekend.

Chances of drawing are quite slim.

I know what you're getting at, but it's not going to happen.
