    That sounds even worse than Boyhood to me. Frown

    If the Oscars were actually about good films, Grand Budapest Hotel would walk Best Picture. Genuinely funny, moving, visually arresting and - best of all - IT ACTUALLY HAD A PLOT.

    Not that I disagree with the rest of your thoughts on it, Anderson's best for a while and probably my favourite film of the last few years.

    Have you seen the won where he plays a sort of L Ron Hubbard chap,

    He's rather splendid in that. As, though it pains me to say it, was ****ing Phoenix.

    No. I think I'll leave him to rest now, and think of him forever as Gunther, a sort of shambling,

    Why wasn't it moving? I found the harking back to a lost, pre-war world, the looming future

    presence of decay, loss and death and the fact that the whole thing was a hymn to the idea of somebody being very, very good at their job very touching.

    I think he'd have made a very good Smiley, actually.

    Not Guinness good, you understand, but definitely better than Oldman.
