For the record, I don't agree with all this Scorcese worship. I am uncomfortable with his faintly nauseating worship of one-dimensional psychopathic characters. However, he knows how to entertain.

It's as reductive as saying all films need to be is entertaining

That must be the single most ridiculous word to apply to a movie.

But all those things are entertainment. What is not entertainment is nothing happening.

Oh, Scorcese's 'better' films always have lots of violence, swearing, sex and male posturing.
