I usually have a night time fag on the terrasse of my apartment building overlooking a row of around

twenty trees on the boulevard down below. The crowns of the trees are illuminated by the street lights hovering just above them. Over a month ago I noticed that bar one tree, they had all shed every single leaf and were completely bare. Remarkably this one tree had one remaining leaf left which still had the faintest tinge of green in it.
Over the past week I noticed that it had lost its last bit of color and tonight I stepped out to find that it had finally gone.
It's plunged me into a right state of melancholy
I wish I had taken a picture of it. It was really beautiful.
