    EssexWIMB: I can't believe Theydon Bois is pronounced Theydon Boys rather than Theydon Bwuh.

    It's in Epping Forest for goodness sake so of course it must be from le bois. Is this just Essexers refusing to use poncey French words?

    There's a bar near Liv St called Boisdale which everyone pronounces boys-dale

    But I suppose it could be pronounced BwahDale

    You can't believe that people from Essex can't pronounce French? Really? f**kers have enough trouble

    I grew up in Chesham Bois in leafy, well-educated South Bucks

    it was still pronounced Boys there
