Thread: is Wengers 4th place prizes really that much of a success

  1. #21

    No.

I have been a massive fan of his for a while.

  2. #22

What is your theory as to why Wenger has made such

    glaring oversights?

  3. #23

A few blunders brought amlong the way during them years, but again no balance.

No DM whcih still doesn't account for our tactics.

Moral of the story - not finances but personnel, balance and tactics

  4. #24

I don't know. More stubborness than anything. Any criticism entrenches his 'experiment'

Why do you think our tactics have been poor and why we didn't get in a proper-enforcer DM since Vieira/Gilberto?

  5. #25

I have no idea. I know very little about tactics and almost as little about

    individual footballers.

Which is why I prefer to judge Wenger on a more quantitative basis. And whenever I do, the only conclusion I, like any rational person, can come to is that he's done enough to keep his job.

  6. #26

Stubborness and naivety would be my guess. He's also far too loyal to his players imo.

We know he's an intelligent man so he must see these problems but somehow thinks he can get through it with the squad he's got rather than get the cheque book out.

  7. #27

Oe could argue that 3rd is up for grabs this season, given that Man City and Chelsea are way ahead

    of the pack.

Would one argue that 4th is relative failure?

  8. #28

"For further context, Arsenal achieved 23 top four finishes in 92 seasons prior to the 18 in a row

that there have been under Wenger."
