Thread: Didnt realise our net transfer spend for the past 2 seasons was almost 100m Pounds Yikes

  1. #11

hehe I am just a **** stirrer my friend.

But in general Arsenal are pretty crap lately.

  2. #12

Well we were competitive in the league last season

Lead the table for much of the season and only tailed off in late March.

What bits do you suspect are fabricated?

  4. #14

Really the question is not the money. I maintain that we did not need to spend

or need to spend loads in every position.

But there are clear areas that appear to be ignored by the manager.

Also it would be nice if we could actually have a chance in one of these top 4 competitor matches. rather than the usual result.

The problem seems to be with the players which comes from the top. I thought the FA cup win might add a new confidence. The Community shield looked good too.

I would imagine that Wenger's philosophy has been to always challenge or compete.

  6. #16

Every club in the PL except the two that happen to be exclusively financed by billionaires

    would say the same.

Do you reckon that's a coincidence?

  7. #17

Oh absolutely. But I don't see how that contradicts the theory

that he always had at least one eye on us reaching a point where we could compete on a more level playing field, financialistically speaking.

  8. #18

Makes it even more frustrating. It is a good time to shine.

Our competitors are also pretty poor

But then when you see **** like that against United I find this very frustrating.

    And Southampton.

Classic Arsenal from them last night though. Dominated for 30 minutes without scoring then long ball over the top of their CH's, goalie charges out and misses it (slight variation on our red card trick) and Villa score with their first attack.

I always laughed at the idea an FA Cup win would be the catalyst

    for greater glories.

I really don't have any explanation for our poor start to the season (which is now almost a third gone). What we would all agree on is that we have underperformed relative to our personnel.

So I think we can take some comfort from the fact that we at least have a manager who has accumulated a squad that we all have tremendous belief in. Do we also have belief that he can get more out of them than he currently is managing?

I think we do, yes. But our sense of disappointment is currently too strong to allow for patience, which I understand.
