Anyone know what b went for with his zesty fresh recipe?

He seemed to have decided to go larb.

    I hope he did.

  3. #3

I did. I made the mistake of also making a very nice cold rice noodle salad to go with it, though.

Totally surplus to requirements, of course. Should have listened to you.

I was at a Turkish restaurant. Borek, then kofte.

You'd think they'd be able to do it a bit better, wouldn't you? I mean, they're right next door to Lebanon, really, so they ought to be able to cook a bit... but Turkish food is always a bit rubbish, isn't it?

Then I had to sit through Electra at the Old Vic. That was no bundle of laughs, let me assure you.

I'm not sure about mince wrapped in lettuce perhaps I have not moved with the times.

  6. #6

Yes, this fancy modern rubbish, the recipe is only about 200 years old.

  7. #7

Yeah. You order it and think 'Great', only for it to ultimately disappoint.

Also, they generally don't provide nice flatbreads as standard.

As for Electra, well...you've no-one to blame but yourself for even going. They were a bad family all-round, really. Best they all topped each other.

Well chillis only arrived in the early 18th century, so it can't be older than that.

Not in its current form, anyway.
