But after years of saying they want the cup, not top 4, now they get it, they complain.

The only way this could be logical is if top 4 is a minimum. As if we have a God-given right to be in the top 4, and we should always be aiming for a trophy on top.

But that can't be true cos that would make us the most spoilt fans in history.

Excluding PLs, we had 20 years of getting top 4 along with an FA cup every 3 years on average. But that isn't good enough?

Yes, our run of defeats in the New Year was disastrous, but if we'd turned one of those defeats into a victory, we'd have still got top 4. If we hadn't had our first choice 3 CHs out for the opening day and conceded one less goal, we'd have made top 4.

Yes, our MF was weak when we lost Santi and it took a change in formation (plus Xhaka growing into the PL) to find a way of making Rambo and Xhaka look like genuine first choice CMs. Perhaps if the El-Nenny and Lucas money had been spent of another £30m MF we might have done better.

This summer is vital but it's out of our hands.

If we lose Sanchez and Ozil, we are ****ed. But if we could keep them, add a midfielder and try to get a striker, we could be challenging.

We lost once to Chelsea in the middle of our bad run. But we played them off the park twice. We know we can beat them. Why did we let their contracts get to this stage? I honestly think this team knows they are at least as good as Chelsea. But will Alexis stay, out of the CL? And Ozil?
