They didn't need to release his name or announce he'd been arrested on suspicion of murder. All they needed to do was say that a 78 year-old man was helping police with their enquiries and then quietly release him without charge.
If he had anyone looking out for him that knows how to use social to raise some money he'd be rich. I'd bung him a tenner nae sweat.
