personally think the £50m fee got out there so as to entice the Chinese...they are completely loopy and would probably drop £15m-£20m more just to get him.
I wouldn't mind just letting his contract run out and take a gamble that we actually do something great and he decides to resign.
We shouldn't sell him to Chelsea or to any premiership team.
£50m is not an unrealistic figure at all given recent transfer deals. We should sell him abroad this summer or let the contract run out.
So you are saying that we should essentially refuse £50million and let him go to Chelsea this time next year for free? He is free to sign a contract with a club of his choosing if in the last six months of his deal. So he could sign the deal in Jan, see out next season with us and then move for free.Quote:

Yes. The last time we let a player go to a rival club he won the league for them when we might have won it. We sell him to a foreign club but if he doesn't want to go we hold on to him because the original post here actually said we'd get £30 million. If he leaves on a free so be it, he'll be 30 by then and may well have gone downhill.Quote:

Alexis is going to go, no question. Hopefully when we've gotten rid of Wenger we can learn to live, and love, again. But Alexis is a little street urchin and thus cannot be expected to embrace such concepts as altruism, loyalty, heterosexuality. :-D
